Dr. Larry J. Crismon II was the first of two sons born to the late Pastor Larry J. Crismon, Sr. and Brenda Crismon. Our pastor grew up in this church, and, as a young man, served as: an acolyte, a choir member, and a sound technician; before accepting his call to the ministry on June 17, 1994 during the final night of a state-wide youth meeting.
Our pastor was formally educated in Bedford County, Tennessee. He received his baccalaureate degree from Middle Tennessee State University, and his doctorate from the University of Memphis. Pastor was ordained and licensed as an elder with the Church of God in Christ, Inc. on August 11, 2000 by Bishop James Scott of Tennessee Second Eastern Jurisdiciton COGIC.
Pastor married his wife and childhood sweetheart, the former Carissa N. Fisher, on December 30, 2000. Our First Lady is an anointed songstress and youth leader. She also serves as an educator, currently working with Murfreesboro City Schools. They have twin sons, Joseph and Justin, and a girl, Brenyn.
Pastor served as Assistant Pastor for seven years to Pastor Joseph Fisher at Temple Worship Center COGIC in Parsons, TN. Pastor was State AIM Chairman for Tennessee Central Jurisdiction COGIC under the late Bishop W.L. Porter. He is currently the superintendent of the L.J. Crismon, Sr. Memorial District in Tennessee Fourth Jurisdiction COGIC under Bishop Jerry Maynard.
Pastor began service as our leader June 15, 2009 and was officially installed on October 24, 2009 by Bishop Maynard. Pastor loves the Lord, and is inspired by the compassionate ministry Christ showed us while on Earth. He believes that God has given us all a New Beginning, and it is his mission to share that Good News with the World.
